Lance Cairns

Bernard Lance Cairns (born 10 October 1949) is a retired New Zealand cricketer who was born in Picton. An all-rounder, he was a right arm fast medium bowler and a right-handed batter.[1]
Cairns played in a total of 148 first-class matches from 1972 to 1988, representing each of Central Districts, Otago, and Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield. He also played for Durham. In international cricket, he played for New Zealand in 43 Test matches and 78 One Day Internationals from 1974 to 1985.[1]
Cairns was the New Zealand Cricket Almanack Player of the Year in both 1976 and 1983. He is the father of Chris Cairns, who also played for New Zealand.[1]
