Lin-Manuel Miranda (born January 16, 1980)[1] is an American composer, lyricist, playwright, and actor. He was born in New York to Puerto Rican parents. He is a Nuyorican artist.[1] He is best known for creating and starring in the Broadway musicals In the Heights and Hamilton.[2] He co-wrote the songs for Moana.

Miranda is set to co-star in the upcoming movie Hamilton: The Movie. Hisawards include a Pulitzer Prize, three Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, a MacArthur Fellowship, and three Tony Awards.[3]

Acting Roles[change | change source]

He played the starring role of Alexander Hamilton in the Broadway musical Hamilton. He played a small role of the Piragüero in the movie In the Heights.[4] He played Jack in Mary Poppins Returns.
