Luis Enrique Mercado Sánchez (19 January 1952 – 28 December 2020) was a Mexican journalist and politician. He was a member of the National Action Party. From 2009 to 2012 he was Deputy of the Mexican Congress representing Zacatecas.[1]

He began his career as a journalist for El Universal and founded El Economista in 1988.

Mercado died from COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico on 28 December 2020 at the age of 68.[2]
