Marianne Thieme

Marianne Louise Thieme (born March 6, 1972 in Ede) is a Dutch animal rights activist and writer, and also a politician of the Party for the Animals (PvdD). She is co-founder of the party, and has been political leader since 2002.

She has been a member of the Second Chamber and also parliamentary leader since 2006. Previously she was party chair from 2002 to 2010.

Thieme studied law at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and a vegetarian.
