Masaaki Higashiguchi (東口 順昭, Higashiguchi Masaaki, born May 12, 1986) is a Japanese football player. He played for the Japan national team.

Biography[change | change source]

Higashiguchi was born in Takatsuki on May 12, 1986. After graduating from Niigata University of Management, he joined J1 League club Albirex Niigata in 2009. Although he injured himself every season, he played many matches from 2010. In 2014, he moved to Gamba Osaka. In 2014, Gamba won all three major titles in Japan; J1 League, J.League Cup and Emperor's Cup.

In 2015, Higashiguchi was selected the Japan national team for 2015 Asian Cup, but he did not play in the match. On August 9, he debuted for the Japan against China at 2015 East Asian Cup. He also participated 2018 World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup, but he did not play in the match.
