Matthew "Matt" Nable (born March 8, 1972) is an Australian actor and writer. Before he became an actor, he was a professional rugby league player (rugby league is a team sport, a kind of football played by two teams who try to carry the ball over the other team's line).[1]

Nable was born in Sydney, Australia.[1] In the 1990s, he played rugby league for two clubs, the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.[2][1]

Acting and writing

After he stopped playing sport, Nable wrote a movie called The Final Winter (2007). The film is about rugby league, and Nable also acted in it. This was how he began his acting career.[1]

He then acted in Australian television shows, such as the crime dramas Underbelly and East West 101.[3] Later he acted in bigger Hollywood films, including Killer Elite (2011) and Riddick (2013).[3] On the American superhero TV series Arrow, he played the villain Ra's al Ghul.[1]

Nable has kept acting in many films and TV shows. His later work includes the TV series Barracuda, Mr Inbetween, and The Twelve.[1] He also works as a writer and director.[3]
