Edit request[change source]

{{editprotected}} Isn't it better to put "There are $1 pages in your watchlist, not counting talk pages.
Also suggested revision: "There are $1 pages in your watchlist, but the total may be higher if talk pages were counted." :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 04:43, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If we changed it to either of your suggestions, you would run into situations where people who have only 1 page (I realise there are probably few) would see "There are 1 pages in your watchlist, not counting talk pages" which is grammatically incorrect. Any reason in particular that you feel the need to change the interface message? Lauryn Ashby (talk) 04:46, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"1 pages on your watchlist" is not grammatically correct either. I believe that "not counting talk pages" may be too complex for our readers. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 04:55, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So replacing one grammatically incorrect message with another is your solution? There's no need to change it, "not counting talkpages" is perfectly simple. Lauryn Ashby (talk) 04:56, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, but if it being grammatically correct is your goal (which it seems to be considering that you keep going back to it), then should we append "page$2"? (And I don't believe either "counting" or "talkpages" to be simple, but fine, I'll leave the end clause that way) :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 05:00, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have no "goal", I simply asked why you wanted to change it. You didn't give a compelling reason to make a change to an interface page which will affect every user on the wiki, so I'm declining to change it. Lauryn Ashby (talk) 05:04, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How about "You have $1 pages on your watchlist"? I believe things are usually on a list, not in one, so "on" is accurate there. But appending "you have" to the start seems to resolve the grammar issue. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 05:17, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I needed that. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 05:29, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{editprotected}} sorry to bother an admin again, but I believe just adding "You have" to the start would make things clearer and fix the grammar issues. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 10:52, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done - Thanks for the notice, a good idea. -Barras talk 16:59, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Add adminstats notice![change source]

{{editprotected}}Please add:

{{adminstats}} have been updated and are available for any administrator of the Simple English Wikipedia.

With an expiry time of 2 weeks.

I don't think we really need that. We only have about 10 active admins and I think most of them are aware of the templates. I suggest just putting a note on the talk pages of the users it applies to. Osiris (talk) 02:03, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm surprised there are only 10 active admins. Simple wiki is pretty big. Anyways rather than notify every admin personally and give the appearance of a spammer, those that aren't aware of it can discover it for themselves.—cyberpower ChatHello! 02:47, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
