Mehar is a town in Dadu District, Sindh, Pakistan, with a rich history dating back to 1848 when it was created as a subdivision of Dadu District during British rule. The town has a population of around 520,559 people, with Sindhi being the primary language spoken (99.7%) ¹ ².

Mehar is located at 27°10′42″N 67°49′25″E, with an elevation of 43 meters (141 ft) above sea level. The area is irrigated by the Western Nāra canal and its smaller channels, making it suitable for farming ¹ ².

Mehar has a long history, with records showing that it was once a fertile area, but floods in 1874 led to the water becoming brackish, and many gardens were lost.
