The Mesopotamian barbel or leopard barbel (Luciobarbus subquincunciatus) is a cyprinid in the genus Luciobarbus found in the Tigris–Euphrates river system.[1] After 12 years of being lost, in January 2024, a local fisherman caught a specimen of the fish.[2]
