Murilo Benício Ribeiro[upper-roman 1] (born July 13, 1971, in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Brazilian actor.[1]
Benício's television roles include the popular telenovelas O Clone[2] and Avenida Brasil, which are among the most watched telenovelas in the world.
In 2018, he made his directorial debut with O Beijo no Asfalto, an adaptation of the play of the same name by Nelson Rodrigues. In 2022, he directed his second movie with Pérola, which adapts a play by Mauro Rasi.
Career

[change | change source]In the 1990's, he starred in the following telenovelas Fera Ferida, as Fabrício; Irmãos Coragem, as Juca Cipó; Vira Lata, as Braúlio Viana; Por Amor, as Leonardo Mota; and Meu Bem Querer, as Antônio Mourão.
He also appeared in two episodes of the sitcom A Comédia da Vida Privada; in the Caso Especial episode "Memórias de Um Sargento de Milícias"; in the series A Justiceira as Juninho; and in two episodes of Você Decide.
In the movies, he starred in O Monge e a Filha do Carrasco as the monk Ambrosius; Os Matadores, as Toninho; the short film Decisão, as Roberto; and Orfeu, as Lucinho.
In the theater, he starred in As Tias do Mauro Rasi, and brazilian adaptation of Woody Allen's God.

He also appeared in two episodes of Brava Gente; in the debut episode of the sitcom Os Normais, titled "Todos São Normais"; in the series Os Amadores, as Guilherme Ferreira; and starred the sitcom Força-Tarefa, as Tenente Wilson.
In the movies, he starred O Sabor da Paixão, as Toninho Oliveira; Até que a Vida nos Separe, as Tonho; Amores Possíveis, as Carlos; O Homem do Ano, as Máiquel; Sexo, Amor e Traição, as Carlos.
In 2006, he portraid the lawyer Dr. Botelho Pinto in the film Casseta & Planeta: Seus Problemas Acabaram!!!.[3] The name Botelho Pinto is a sexual innuendo for "I put the dick in [someone]".
In 2006, he also starred Paid, as Michel; and then, Inesquecível, as Diego.
In the theater, he starred in Dois na Gangorra, and Fica Comigo Esta Noite.

He also appeared in the minisseries Amores Roubados, as Jaime Favais; the series Nada Será Como Antes, as Saulo Ribeiro; and minisseries Se Eu Fechar os Olhos Agora, as Adriano Marques Torres.
In the movies, he appeared in E Aí... Comeu?, as Wôlney; made the brazilian voice role of Professor Bomba in Reino Escondido; O Animal Cordial, as Inácio; Divórcio, as Júlio; and made his directorial debut in O Beijo no Asfalto.

Benício is also the recipient of one Prêmio Grande Otelo do Cinema Brasileiro (English: Grande Otelo Award of Brazilian Cinema) in the category Best Comedy in 2024 for the movie Pérola;[13] two Prêmios Guarani de Cinema Brasileiro (English: Guarani Awards of Brazilian Cinema) in the categories Best Supporting Actor in 2000 for Até que a Vida nos Separe, and Best Actor in 2019 for O Animal Cordial; and two Prêmios Arte Qualidade Brasil (English: Art Quality Brazil Awards) in the category Best Television Actor for O Clone in 2002 – tied with Tony Ramos for As Filhas da Mãe – and Ti Ti Ti in 2010.
