The National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC; Persian: شرکت ملی مناطق نفتخیز جنوب ایران) is a government-owned corporation under the direction of the Ministry of Petroleum of Iran. NISOC is Iran's biggest oil producer.
NISOC operates as a subsidiary of National Iranian Oil Company. It was established in Masjed Soleyman in 1971.
The company is active in a land area more than 400,000 km². Its headquarters are in Ahvaz, Iran. NISOC also has nine other subsidiaries.
NISOC produces about 83% of all crude oil and 16% of natural gas produced in Iran.[2] This makes NISOC Iran's largest oil company.[3]
