Obie Trice III (born 14 November 1977) is an American rapper and songwriter. He was born in Detroit, Michigan. He started to rhyme when he was 11 years old.[1] In 2000 he was signed to Shady Records.

His first album Cheers was released in 2003 with its first single being "Got Some Teeth" The album consists of 17 tracks. The album was very successful and sold almost three million copies as of July 2018 and peaking at third on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums In 2008.[2] Obie started his own record label called Black Market Entertainment.[1]
