Potenza (Italian: Potenza) is an Italian city in south of Italy, in the region Basilicata. It is the capital of Basilicata and also the center of Potenza province. About 70,000 people live there.

Potenza means strength in Italian. The altitude of the city center is 819m, thus making it the highest provincial capital in Italy.

Potenza has a cathedral.
