Pudong New District

Pudong New District (Chinese: 浦东新区), major eastern district of Shanghai founded in 1990 as part of the Reforming and Opening Up Policy of Deng Xiaoping. It is named for its position on the eastern bank of the Huangpu River. Famous attractions include Lujiazui, Century Park, Shanghai World Expo Site, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Dishui Lake and Pudong International Airport.
