Qian Qichen (Chinese: 钱其琛; pinyin: Qián Qíchēn; 5 January 1928 – 9 May 2017) was a Chinese diplomat and politician. He served as China's foreign minister from 12 April 1988 to 18 March 1998.[1] He was Vice Premier of the State Council from 1993 until he retired in 2003.[2][3]

Qian died on May 9, 2017 in Beijing at age of 89.[4][5]
