Red Murrell

Phillip "Red" Murrell (February 23, 1933 – December 20, 2017) was an American basketball player. He was born in Linneus, Missouri. He was best known for his college career at Drake University from where he played from 1955 through 1958.[1] His sports number 33 was retired by the university. He won the NJCAA champion in 1955 and the AAU All-American in 1960.[2][3]

Murrell died on December 20, 2017 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma of coronary artery disease at the age of 84.[4]
