Richard Gilder

Richard Gilder, Jr. (May 31, 1932 – May 12, 2020),[1] was an American businessman, philanthropist and conservative political donor. He was the co-founder of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.[2] He donated to many charities including Central Park, the New-York Historical Society and the American Museum of Natural History. Gilder was born in New York City.
Gilder died on May 12, 2020 at his home in Charlottesville, Virginia of congestive heart failure, aged 87.[3]
