Roger Maris

Roger Maris (1935-1993) was a baseball player for the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Athletics, New York Yankees, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Maris spent his early years with the Indians and the Athletics. Being a great star, the Yankees signed him in 1960. In 1961, the Yankees won the world series. Sports writers called him and Mickey Mantle the M&M boys. After the 1966 season the Yankees traded him to the Cardinals. In 1967 the Cardinals won the World Series. After 1968 he retired.
