Richard Lynn "Sandy" Alderson (born November 22, 1947) is an American baseball executive. He was the general manager of the New York Mets from 2010 to 2018. He was an executive with the Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres and the commissioner's office of Major League Baseball.[1]

In July 2018, Alderson was diagnosed with a returning form of cancer.[2]
