Sara Anzanello (July 30, 1980 – October 25, 2018) was an Italian volleyball player in the middle hitter-blocker role.
Early life and career
[change | change source]Anzanello was born in San Donà di Piave, Venice. She played for the national women's volleyball team for Italy in 1998, when she was 17 years old. She had a total of 203 caps for her team.[1]
Death
[change | change source]In 2013, Anzanella needed a liver transplant after getting hepatitis in Azerbaijan. She got better and kept on playing volleyball.
Anzanello died on October 25, 2018 from leukemia in Venice at the age of 38.[2]
