Background[change | change source]

Akaaboune was born and grew up in Tangier, Morocco. She learned how to act at the Loft Studio.[1] In 2010, she acted in the movie Green Zone with Matt Damon. She also played roles in the romantic comedy Playing for Keep in 2012 and the 2013 biopic Lovelace. In 2013, she appeared on the French show Les Vraies Housewives which featured her and four other housewives. Akaaboune met film producer Peter Rodger in 1999, and they got married and had a son together.[2][3] Akaaboune was also the stepmother to Elliot Rodger, who was responsible for the 2014 Isla Vista killings. Akaaboune and Rodger had a difficult relationship, and he originally planned to murder Akaaboune and her son.[4][5]
