Special drawing rights

The International Monetary Fund issues an international reserve asset known as Special Drawing Rights, that can supplement the official reserves of member countries. The Special Drawing Right is an interest-bearing international reserve asset created by the IMF in 1969 to supplement other reserve assets of member countries. The SDR is also called as Paper Gold.
