St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
St. (Saint) Jude Children's Research Hospital is a pediatric treatment and research facility focused on children's catastrophic diseases such as leukemia and other cancers. The hospital costs about US$2.8 million a day to run, but patients are not charged for their care.[1]
It is located in Memphis, Tennessee.[2] St. Jude was founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962.[3]

The main source of funding for St. Jude comes from donations raised by the American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC), which was also founded by Danny Thomas in 1957.[4]
Awards and achievements
[change | change source]St. Jude has received multiple awards. In 2022, it was ranked second in the U.S News & World Report’s ranking of the best children’s cancer hospitals in the United States.[5]
