fault is just the breakage in the earth crust also known as lithosphere. we have three types; 1. normal fault ;- this is the type of fault that involves the fault plane dipping towards the down-thrown block e.g mid-ocean ridges. ` 2. reverse fault ;- whereby the fault plane dips toward the up-thrown block `3. strike-slip fault ;- process in which the fault plane either dips vertically or horizontally e.g occured in turkey, new-zealand and san-andreas in carlifornia ..........................................
