One person's concerns[change source]

This article is completely incomplete and incorrect. There are more than two genders, and that is not the same as sex. Also, hermaphrodite is an outdated and offensive term. I reccomend a complete rewrite 184.60.31.237 (talk) 01:29, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for expressing your concerns here on the talk page. Please keep in mind that, as used in this article, "gender" means the gender (or sex) of the organism (human, animal, or plant), and does not mean gender identity or other similar terms. Likewise, hermaphrodite has a specific biological meaning, not related to the improper use of the term for intersex or transgender people.
