Problem with what links here[change source]

This article seems to have a lot of wiki-links to it, even though it was just created recently. Please see Wikipedia talk:Orphan#What links here. Ottawahitech (talk) 16:23, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ottawahitech: The issue appears to be with Template:Canada topics, which is transcluded on each of the pages displayed in the WhatLinksHere page. This template appears to have a link to this list, hence why the other pages also have a link back here despite the link not being clearly visible in the article body. See my response to your talk post. --Examknowtalk 16:29, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This doesn't appear to be the case, actually. There are no links within the article body to this page other than within the template. Hiàn (talk) 16:35, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Hiàn: thanks so much (and you too @Examknow:) for helping me out here. Sorry I took so long — I find it difficult to manage my time on Wikipedia. There are so many areas that need improvement, so rightly or wrongly, I work on content first.
Back to the topic at hand, yes it appears that List of rivers of Canada was already included in the template when it was created in 2011, where it appears when one clicks rivers in the Geography section. So looks like I inadvertently helped remove one of the many redlinks on that template, yey!
BTW I am surprised that a template such as this appears on less than 20 pages. Your thoughts? Ottawahitech (talk) 16:23, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Ottawahitech: No worries, everyone has a life outside of Wikipedia. Indeed, you did help remove one of the red links on the template.
As for the usage, here's my two cents: ideally we should be able to have it on all major Canada topics (including those linked within the template) and adjust the template as we see fit. Hiàn (talk) 19:11, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
