Some revisions[change source]

I have changed some things like the previous introductory statement that "Positivism is the belief that the scientific method is the best approach..." - it is not so much a "belief" in something than a decision to follow a certain method. Positivism is mostly a method that has philosophical implications...

I am not quite sure whether the present chapter on "operationalism" should be in there. I'd rather go for chapters on the influence in different sciences. We speak of things like "economic positivism" etc.

I am also not quite sure about what to do with the present normal usage of the word. Google's number 2 is presently the Twitter Search - and that leads entirely to tweets abou optimism and happiness... I gave the indication later in the article. Yet I am not so sure whether this is the best arrangement. My English might sound slightly German here and there. I am only too happy about improvements :) -Olaf Simons (talk) 11:57, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe not okay[change source]

" by the philosopher and founding sociologist, Auguste Comte".--Anyone can try to fix this (while I am trying to fix other things on Simple-wiki). 2001:2020:32D:961A:65B3:3F74:93CD:3157 (talk) 15:42, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
