Notes on usage[change source]

This template marks-up links to http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org, the Catholic-Hierarchy English-language source for Catholic bishops, dioceses, and events associated with their identification. This template configures the url for: http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/<<bishop/diocese/events>>/<<topic name>>.html

Two parameters are required; a third to display an alternative linked text is optional; fourth parameter for date retrieved is also optional. The last two parameters are archive url and date.

  • 1 - REQUIRED - TYPE specifies if the link is for a bishop, diocese, country, or event. Allowable values generally are bishop, diocese, country, or events
  • 2 - REQUIRED - URL section are the last letters in the url, not including .html
  • 3 - OPTIONAL - ALT NAME is the alternative text to be shown rather than {1}/{2} (i.e. for the bishop's, diocese's, or event's name)
  • accessdate - OPTIONAL - The full date when the original URL was accessed; do not wikilink
  • archiveurl - OPTIONAL - The URL of an archived copy of a web page, if or in case the URL becomes unavailable; requires 'archivedate'
  • archivedate - OPTIONAL - Date when the original URL was archived; do not wikilink
