The 'date' parameter is optional.
This template is used to show a word, phrase or sentence which the reader may not understand without further explanation.
Example:
- The book deals with the "theory of obstreporous verbosity".

will look like this:
- The book deals with the "theory of obstreporous verbosity".[further explanation needed]
This template will categorise pages into Category:Articles needing a sentence or phrase to be explained.
