Usage[change source]

Use {{format footnotes|date=April 2024}} to alert editors to articles with citations that are incorrectly formatted or not formatted at all.

This template will add the page to Category:Articles needing references cleanup.

Use in an article with citations like:

Australia has a government Australian Government.

or

Australia has a governmentsee footnote 1

A standard, correct way of formatting this citation would be:

Australia has a government.[1]
