Template:Redirect to alternative language category

The pages in this category are redirects to terms in the (specified language). The language code in the |2= parameter below is essential to populate this category. To add a redirect to this category, place {{Rcat shell|{{R from alternative language|1=(the < from > ISO 639 name code)|2=(the < to > ISO 639 name code)}}}} on the second new line after #REDIRECT [[Target page name]]. Alias/shortcuts may also be used; for example: {{Rcat shell}} is a shortcut for {{Redirect category shell}} and may be used interchangeably. For more information, follow the template link. Never substitute rcat(s), nor place them on soft redirects.

This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories.

Usage

This template is placed in the subcategories of Category:Redirects to non-English-language terms. It requires as its first parameter, |1=, the ISO 639 code of the "to" language. As is common with unnamed parameters, the 1= may be omitted. For example:

• {{Redirect to alternative language category|ca}}

The code "ca" is the ISO 639 code for the Catalan language.

This template places pages in a subcategory that is governed by the pagename of the category where this template is transcluded. To suppress this template's subcategory when necessary, use |nocat=true.
