Template:Unknown parameters category/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Unknown parameters category.
It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

Usage[change source]

This template is for use on category pages that are populated by Module:Check for unknown parameters.

To use it, add the following to the category page:

{{Unknown parameters category|TEMPLATE_NAME}}

where TEMPLATE_NAME is the name of the template the category is tracking.

The template will display two message boxes, a table of contents, and add the category page to Category:Unknown parameters.

If the first word of TEMPLATE_NAME is Infobox, the template also adds the category page to Category:Infoboxes needing cleanup.

This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories.

This is a hidden category. It is not shown on its member pages, unless the corresponding user preference (appearance → show hidden categories) is set.

Administrators: Please do not delete this category even if it is empty!
This category may be empty occasionally or even most of the time.

This category contains pages transcluding Template:Infobox writer with unknown parameters, as detected by Module:Check for unknown parameters.
Pages are sorted alphabetically by the unknown parameter that is used, i.e. pages using |location= would be sorted under "L".
