The Aviator is a 2004 American epic biographical drama movie directed by Martin Scorsese. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Howard Hughes. It was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, and won five, including Best Supporting Actress for Cate Blanchett, who plays Katharine Hepburn. Kate Beckinsale plays Ava Gardner. The movie also won the BAFTA Award for Best Film. It is about the life of Howard Hughes, his flights and time as a film producer. The movie was released on December 17, 2004 in the United States. The movie is 170 minutes long. It is rated PG-13. The movie has budget of $110 million, and grossed over $213.7 million.
