The Strange Love of Martha Ivers is a 1946 American crime drama movie directed by Lewis Milestone and was based on the short story Love Lies Bleeding by John Patrick. It stars Kirk Douglas (in his movie debut), Barbara Stanwyck, Van Heflin, Lizabeth Scott, Darryl Hickman, Janis Wilson, Judith Anderson, Frank Orth, Blake Edwards and was distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was nominated for an Academy Award in 1947.
