Tito Vilanova

Francesc "Tito" Vilanova Bayó (17 September 1968 – 25 April 2014) was a Spanish footballer and manager. He played as a central midfielder for, and later managed, FC Barcelona.[1] He retired in 2013 because of his ill health. He was born in Bellcaire d'Empordà, Catalonia.

He won the treble with Barcelona in his first season, the 2008-09 season. This means he won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League.

Vilanova died on 25 April 2014 due to complications from throat cancer in a hospital in Barcelona, aged 45.[2]
