Trees Keultjes (15 February 1926 – 20 January 2022) was a Dutch police officer.[1][2] In 1953 she was one of the first ever female Dutch police officers.

Biography

She worked as a typist. In 1953 three female officers were hired, the first ever female Dutch police officers. There was a lot of media attention of her first public appearance.[3] The other two female colleagues had to quit when they got married, Keultjes remained unmarried and continued to work as a policewoman, but later as a detective.[4] As the first female agent, she maintained media interest. For instance after her 25 years of service in 1978,[4] she had a main interview for Trouw in 1999.[5]

Keultjes died in Oss on 20 January 2022, at the age of 95.[1][2] At the end 2022 she was highlited in the NOS television programm "Uit het leven 2022"; a programm with an overview of people who died in 2022.[6]
