Upminster
Upminster is a suburb in the east London Borough of Havering, England, located 16.5 miles (26.6 km) northeast of Charing Cross.
It is the eastern end of the London Underground system, on the District line. It is also a station on the c2c railway line, but Oyster cards are valid beyond Upminster station on the Grays via Ockendon route. Nearby places include Hornchurch and Cranham.
Saint Laurence Church in Upminster is where William Derham measured the speed of sound.
