An RFA is stressful, long, and can be hard to go through. Before reading on, I'd like to tell you that, being an admin, only gives you a few more buttons to push, and this does not make you any more special, or let you be exempt from the rules. Before reading on, please wait and think, do you really want to go through a stressful 7 day process just to get a few more buttons? If someone told you to do, so, or you thought it'd make you look cool, or give you more authority, etc, then I'm sorry to say that's not the point of an RFA. If you enjoy editing, and helping others, and If you want to help Wikipedia, and understand that Adminship does not make you special, then please read on.

Tips[change | change source]

  • If someone asks you a question, be honest, give links to evidence (if needed), be Civil and most importantly, don't stress out! An RFA is not a job interview! It's a volunteer role, and while it's taken seriously (and you should take the role seriously), please don't let it affect your daily life, Wikipedia is just volunteering!
  • An editor once told me that just because things are going bad in your RFA, you shouldn't withdraw it just yet. In short the editor was saying, that...[(will add on soon)]

  • Don't file for an RFA on your very first day/edit here; even if you have admin rights on another Wikipedia!
