                                 Tyrannosaurus Rex

Tyrannosaurus was a tyrannosaurid that lived during the Upper Creataceous from about 68.5 - 65.5 million years ago. It was about 17 feet ( 5.1816 meters)tall,It was up to 45 feet ( 13.716 meters ) long,and weighing about 5 tons ( 5,000 kg ).It's name meant the Tyrant Lizard King.Tyrannosaurus was related to dinosaurs like Albertosaurus,Tarbosaurus,Gorgosaurus and Daspletosaurus.It was a lizard hipped ( saurusrachian)dinosaur.It was part of the theropod group of dinosaurs.Tyrannosaurus females would mate with males and stay with them for a short period of time.Males were about 13 feet tall and 40 feet long,but it weighed more than the female.It weighed 7 tons. It ate meat and was sometimes called a hunter or a scavenger.It is basically a hunter.It preyed on species like : Triceratops,Anatotitan Chasmosaurus,Parasaurolophus,Struthomimus,Saurolophus,Edmontosaurus and Ornithomimus.When parenting,the females hunt for her brood of about 12.They get rid of the babies in about a year.It lived alongside carnivores like Tarbosaurus and Dromeosaurus.It lived in shading parts of North America.It was first found in 1905,and named by Henry Fairfield Osborn.Females were very terrotorial.They would stay to fight with armored dinosaurus like Ankylosaurus.The teeth of Tyrannosaurus was about 16 cm long.Scientists think that T-rex may have saw in black in white.It became extinct 65.5 mya
