Now retired from a career in transport covering a wide range of technical disciplines throughout the whole product lifecycle including research, design, development, testing, production, operation, maintenance and modification. Previously employed by British Rail, Leyland Bus, UK Atomic Energy Authority, DeltaRail and Farulvestun Consulting.

My most visible contribution to the British railway industry is the Class 153 single car diesel units. I was both project and works manager to produce these unique trains whilst working for Leyland Bus. The 153s were converted at the Leyland Bus dockside plant ("Unit 4") at Workington.
