Xenogender is an umbrella term for gender identities whose description stands outside common human understanding of gender. These identities are externally seen usually as uncommon within society as general, as many of them are casually associated with nonhuman or extrahuman things, while not necessarily tied to otherkinism.[1] These associations are many times tied to one's neurodivergency, however it's plausible for a neurotypical person to experience, or that a neurodivergent person experiences, xenogender identities while not interconnected to their neurotype variation.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]

Xenogender identity is a specific form of exclusive non-binary identity, where the person is so far removed from the binary that they may choose to identify simply as their first name or as a real or imaginary animal. Their sense of self is so far removed from ideas of male or female that they choose to reference ideas and identities outside of gender altogether in order to describe themselves
