I think that Simple English Wikipedia is an excellent place to have articles on Linguistics topics. We can expect articles on linguistics (which usually quickly become filled with jargon) to be much more straightforward in Simple English. This would also be a good idea for other difficult topics, like general relativity and the like. The idea of complicated ideas explained in simple terms appeals to me.
