The type of eruption that the Volcano Popocatepetl produce is dominant explosive/ Plinian eruptions. It would also be"accompanied by pyroclastic flow and voluminous lahars". Back in the 17,000 cal yr BP, it mention that the eruption of the Popocatepetl at the time, the eruption were mixed into two different type of silicic magma, which result of collapsing the reservoir and the formation of the caldera. It has also mention about two type pyroclastic flows "were emplaced during the eruption".
