Andrey Alexandrovich Sobolev (Russian: Андрей Александрович Соболев, born July 14, 1992, Dnipro, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine) is a Russian film director[1], clip maker, advertising director, who has become known for his collaboration with popular Russian and Ukrainian performers by shooting video clips, as well as cooperation with foreign artists.[2]

Andrey was born on July 14, 1992 in Dnepropetrovsk. He studied at School № 4, NVC № 36[3], Ukrainian-American Lyceum "UAL" in Dnepropetrovsk.[4] Then he graduated from the art school "DKSH № 1", from an early age showed a passion in the field of cinema and television.[5][6]

In 2006 he participated in the XIV Artek International Children's Film Festival, which was held with the support of the State Department of Presidential Affairs of Ukraine.[7] Andrey was selected and became a member of the small children's jury headed by the following filmmakers: Issak Semyonovich Magiton, Oleg Borisovich Fialko and Vasily Semyonovich Lanovoy.[4][8]

In 2008, Andrew together with Vlad Busyrev initiated the author's TV program "The choice is yours" which was broadcast on Dnepropetrovsk TV channels: 51 DTRK, 27 Kanal, 9 Kanal, Tet, and also became the author and director of the first season of the program from 2008 to 2009.[9]

In 2009 he entered the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography at the directing faculty, in the workshop of directing television programs under the guidance of director Maxim Yurievich Ivannikov.[10]

In 2009 he entered the Ostankinsky Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting, workshop of non-fiction film directing under the guidance of director Viktoria Trubnikova.[11]

While studying in Moscow, he was involved in directing, shooting commercials and music videos.

He also shot video clips for the band Chi-Li, singer Oksana Pochepa (ex. Akula), Elvira-T, Klava Koka, Dj Chris Parker.[1][12]

In 2011, he directed a music video for The Sahar Group[13], and in 2013 directed a music video for singer Galina Eremenko for the single "Тысячи дорог".[14]

In 2014, he directed the music video "Ушла в рассвет" by singer Oksana Pochepa.[15] In the same year shoots a video clip for the single "Меняй мир" by Tyumen singer Nell.[16]

In 2016, he was the winner of the Cannes Film Festival Festival de Cannes 2016.[17] In 2023, Andrey directed the music video for singer Diana Legchenko's single "Я не парюсь".[18][19]

The song was recorded in the studio of Anna Pletneva, lead singer of the band "Vintage", the project also involved movie actor, TV presenter and singer Dmitry Grinevich.[20][21]
