Lesson 1: How to Edit[change | change source]

The Change Button

Editing on Wikipedia is as easy as clicking a button. In fact, it is just that. Almost every page on Wikipedia has a button on the top right side that says "change". After this button is pressed, a large box will be shown on the screen with all the text and codes used in the article. You can change or add anything you want, to help improve the article.

Simple Codes[change | change source]

Wikipedia uses many different codes that affect the way the text and other special features are seen. Most of them are similar to each other and easy to remember. The following are the most common and basic ones.

  • Italic = ''Italic''
  • Bold = '''Bold'''
  • Font Color = <font color="Red">Font Color</font>
  • sup = sup
  • sub = sub
