About myself

I am a film historian and an expert in empirical film studies, in German film history, and in the social and cultural history of national socialism. I am German and I got my magister degree and my doctor degree in my home country. Since 2000, I live with my husband and my two children in the United States.

I have been contributing for more than a year to the German Wikipedia and to WikiBooks, but I find it more and more important to contribute to such information sources that serve wider audiences, like in countries where information and education is harder to reach as in Europe or in Northern America. A project that I very much recommend is One Laptop per Child.

My first impression of the Simple English Wikipedia was that it still needs an awful lot of improvement and of extension, but I love the idea and I think telling difficult things in simple words is probably the most challenging and rewarding work a writer can choose.
