¡Hola! My name is Rosamelia. My nickname is Rosa. You may call me Rosa. My nickname is Surfer Rosa because I am a fan of the music band OK Go. OK Go has a very famous song called "Here It Goes Again". In that song a verse speaks about "Surfer Rosa". "Surfer Rosa" is the name of an album by a music band called The Pixies. OK Go is a fan of The Pixies. I am a fan of The Pixies too. :)
I was born in Cartagena de Indias. Cartagena de Indias is a city in Colombia. My mother tongue is Spanish. I learned English since I was very young. I lived in the United States when I was young. Now I live in Colombia but I still speak very good English. I am a writer at the English Wikipedia too.
I think the Simple English Wikipedia is an excellent idea. Many people in Colombia and in other countries speak English as second language; most people speak little English. The Simple English Wikipedia is a very useful tool for learning English. I believe this Simple English Wikipedia is going to be more popular than the English Wikipedia in the future.I hope I can help others to make this Wikipedia very famous. I like that the Simple English Wikipedia is a Wikipedia for many international people, not just native English speakers.
Another reason why I like the Simple English Wikipedia is this: I am tired of being seen as a foreigner at the English Wikipedia. Most people at the English Wikipedia are native English speakers. Many people at the English Wikipedia think the English Wikipedia is The United States of America Wikipedia. I do not like that. I wrote an essay about this topic a long time ago at the English Wikipedia. (Sorry, the essay is not in Simple English.)
Anyways, I'm glad I found this Wikipedia. In the future I will translate many articles from The English and Spanish Wikipedias to the Simple English Wikipedia. My main interests are: music, history and pets. I love dogs. I have a pet Great Dane, his name is Bono. Today is his birthday, it's a very good coincidence. Adiós :)

I also was unknown about the criteria of Wikipedia but I go on getting it little by little on.I also am not native speaker therefore I suggest to all native speakers to use just simple English so that it would be easy to understand for no English having a native language.
