Order of the Dragon or Societas Draconis was a knight order of the Holy Roman Emperor. It was founded in 1408 by Sigismund, King of Hungary. ^[1] ^[2] ^[3]

The Order flourished during the first half of the 15th century, primarily in 15th-century Germany and 15th-century Italy. After Sigismund's death in 1437, the Order of the Dragon lost its importance.
