The Last Supper[change source]

Thank you for trying to be helpful. But you must check your facts before you make changes. You changed the List of Renaissance artists because you saw that it included the name of a famous painting "The Last Supper".

But what you need to notice is that:

  1. the name wasn't Leonardo da Vinci
  2. the date of birth and death were not Leonardo's dates
  3. the location of painting was on a wall in Florence, not on a wall in Milan

All that information together tells you that this isn't about Leonardo da Vinci, but someone else. So there were several things that you needed to check out, before you made that change. Before a serious editor like me puts an article like that together, we do our research. We check our facts. If someone comes along and makes changes without bothering to check the facts, then it can cause mistakes that sometimes take weeks or months to be found and corrected.

The questions for you are:

  1. Was Leonardo da Vinci the only artist that ever painted a picture called The Last Supper? Of coure not! It was a very famous event from the Life of Jesus and since Early Christian times it has been painted, carved and put into stained glass windows hundreds of times.
  2. Who is this Andrea del Castagno and did he really do a picture called The Last Supper? Yes, he certainly did! And as you can see, he really was an exceptionally good painter, even though this picture is not as famous as Leonardo's version. Amandajm (talk) 16:21, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
