When you delete large quanities of text without stating a reason why, more often than not I associate it with section blanking, which is pretty routine and seen by anonymous editors quite often. Explaining what you were doing - simplifying, removing bad English, etc. - would have made me stop and look at the edit more closely. I apologize for not doing so anyway; I should have been more careful.
